I just finished reading Lessons Learned from Years of Homeschooling, by Andrea Schwartz. As a mom of three little ones, I am already contemplating the time when they will be old enough for school. I believe that education begins at birth, and continues all our lives, but for us the time for more structured schoolwork hasn't yet arrived. But I'm still thinking. And I'm planning. We have already made the commitment to homeschool our children, and we are very much looking forward to it. I love reading homeschool related books that help in building a foundation of knowledge and inspiration for the years ahead of us as we plan to walk that route.
Reading Lessons Learned from Years of Homeschooling was a great encouragement to me as Andrea shared honestly about her homeschooling experiences and the things she has learned from it. It was great to be reminded of the reasons why we have chosen to homeschool our children, and to also be reminded of the importance that God stays first through it all. Andrea wrote about some of her challenges and about how she taught different life lessons to her children. I loved that it was broken into "short essay" style chapters because it made it really easy to sit down and read a short bit and I was able to end at a good stopping point.
Overall, Lessons Learned from Years of Homeschooling is a great book full of encouragement from the journey of a seasoned homeschool mom. It's also has a nice boost of ideas for teaching your children character building lessons and ideas to instill in them a love for God. Great book!

You are 100% correct! Learning starts at birth (or at least it should) but it is sad to say that it doesn't :-( I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed this book. I think I may read it when I finish the book I am reading. I can't wait to start homeschooling! I am very glad that we will have each other as support through it! Can't wait to read this :-)
