Perfect Apple Pie

I just made this recipe for the first time, and we all loved it! Actually, I haven't made an apple pie since I have been married (gasp...I know, that's nearly 3 years) and I just a week or two ago finally bought a pie pan. I'm really happy to own one now. How in the world did I overlook that when making our wedding registry??

Perfect Apple Pie
2 T. all purpose flour
3/4 cup honey
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
6-8 Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, & sliced)
2 (9-inch) pie crusts

Preheat oven to 350.

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add the honey and mix well. Add the sliced apples and toss well to coat.

Line a 9-inch pan with one pie crust, then fill with apples. Top with the remaining pie crust and flute edges. Make a few slits in the top of the pie to allow steam to escape.

Bake for 1 hour or until golden and bubbly.

Enjoy!

This recipe is modified from WholeFoods' Double-Crust Apple Pie.

Hey Sarah! The pie looks delicious! When do you add the honey? I don't see that in your instructions on the recipe.

Ooops! Thanks Kimberly! I have updated the recipe for when to add the honey. :-)

that looks so good!

Do you have a favorite pie crust recipe?

Snow White, I am still looking for a favorite pie crust recipe, but the one I used for the apple pie was this one: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/recipe.php?recipeId=952
I liked the taste, but it was hard to keep from falling into pieces when transferring to the pie pan. I also would like to find one that is cheaper and maybe uses oil instead of butter...hope that helped!!
